It's no wonder that the Acropolis is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Athens! Not only is it a beautiful ancient sight, but it was also built during Pericles's golden age, when Athens was at its peak. Among the millions of travellers that visit this monument each year, the vast majority of them are happy enough of their experience on the sacred hill. But what happens when someone is not satisfied with his experience?

Me and my friends visted the Akropolis last May. Of course when you visit Athens you must see the Akropolis. However, we did not really like oure visit. The Stones are verry slippery and dangerour. There are also Manu tourists who push each other on the stairs
ANSWER
Thank you for your review of Acropolis, hjvdhijden. We're sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your visit and that the stones were slippery and dangerous. Indeed you are right, but some time ago, many people-mostly in sandals or barefoot were visiting Acropolis.

This was very confusing. The app messed up a lot. Plays randomly. Then stops completely. I would say get a tour guide.
ANSWER
What exactly is an App? Back in our days, we used to give some handwritten maps to the foreign travellers that were trying to go to the Acropolis (or in some cases we were killing them because they were conquerors that wanted Athens and its treasures!)

The place is amazing but the people in charge of the tickets are awful. The free entrance expected for eu university students is denided with strange reasons. I had a student card and my student contract but they pretended there was always somenthing wrong, though my card was accepted in all the other museums in Greece. At the end they forced me to pay the full price and to write a note of protest in a small notebook where tourists leave their comment (really effective!). A way to say "I do whatever I want".Very bad service.
ANSWER
I'm sorry to hear that our ticketing staff gave you a difficult time when you visited Acropolis. Usually, the slaves we had at the entrance were very helpful and efficient, so I'm sorry to hear that your experience was different with people that actually chose to do this work and get paid to do it!
I'll make sure your feedback is passed along to our management team so they can investigate what might have gone wrong in this instance and ensure that our visitors have the best possible experience when they come to see Acropolis. If not, probably I will bring back the slaves!

This shining beacon on the hill is really a strenuous hike but it is so worth it. The history of the hill is well documented and strategically placed so that you have breaks as you make your way up. The views at the top make it well understood why this place was used to worship and defend the city.
ANSWER
Thank you for your review, Filos Timbeach3! I'm glad to hear you found our Acropolis "a shining beacon", personally I gave my life in building the Acropolis! I am also happy that you found the tour informative and the views spectacular, it means that Greeks are good at discovering their roots and that they built a great city around the Acropolis. I hope you'll consider joining us again on one of other cities in the Delian League too (don't go to Peloponnese, we are on with Sparta!)
