“ZARI” – The lyrics of the song
I wish us no pain, I wish us no pain
I fall and roll like a dice
I pretend to forget your name
And everything around me changes suddenly
The wind is blowing us away
I’m falling and rolling like a dice
I’m forgetting your scent
And everything changes around me
I’m gonna do it my way
I’ll be in and out of your mind
Why didn’t you give me your hand
Not even to get caught
I used to have pain for you in secret
I’m letting it all out
Let’s go
Put your hands up
Pretend it wasn’t a lie
Shoot one last time
And let him bring us what he wants next

Greece first participated in Eurovision in 1974, and over the decades, Greek entries have ranged from traditional folk melodies to contemporary pop and rock tunes, reflecting the country’s rich musical landscape. Notably, Greece’s music often incorporates elements of its traditional sounds, such as the use of Greek instruments and rhythms, alongside modern production techniques. This blend has helped Greek entries stand out, offering a unique taste of Greek culture to audiences across Europe and beyond.
One of the most memorable moments in Greece’s Eurovision history came in 2005, when Helena Paparizou won the contest with her song “My Number One.” This victory marked a significant achievement for Greece, bringing the contest to Athens the following year and igniting a wave of enthusiasm for Greek music across the continent. Since then, Greece has continued to send a wide variety of musical styles to the competition, from ethno-pop fusions to ballads and dance tracks. Despite the ups and downs in terms of final standings, Greek entries have consistently been celebrated for their vitality, creativity, and strong cultural identity, contributing to the ongoing story of Greek songs in the Eurovision Song Contest.
