September 16, 2022If you're looking for an amazing day trip to experience another country and another continent, look no further than Bodrum. Located just 50 minutes from Kos port, this incredible city is well worth a visit. Here, you'll discover ancient ruins, Turkish hospitality, and a culture that is truly unique. We had an incredible time exploring Bodrum on our day trip and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for an adventure!
Like many other travelers, we wanted to visit an island outside Athens and we chose to go to Kos. The island is beautiful and has a lot to offer visitors. We were able to take a day trip to Bodrum from Kos and it was definitely worth it!
The day trip from Kos to Bodrum was an incredible experience. The ride was beautiful, and we were able to see the stunning Turkish coastline as we made our way to the city. Once there, we were able to explore the ancient ruins of Halicarnassus, which is where Herodotus the Father of History was born.
Visit Halicarnassus
Halicarnassus was once a powerful Greek city, and its ruins are a testament to that power. Here, you can see the remains of ancient temples, theaters, and public baths, all of which are in remarkable condition. Additionally, the city is home to the Tomb of Mausolus, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. This incredible structure is definitely worth a visit and provides a fascinating glimpse into ancient Greek culture.
Bodrum Turkish Baths
The Turkish bath in Bodrum was an incredible experience. It was my first time visiting a Turkish bath, and I was definitely not disappointed. The bath was huge and offered plenty of space to relax and enjoy the experience. There were several different pools of hot and cold water, as well as a steam room and a sauna. It was an amazing way to relax and unwind after a day of exploring the city.
The local market
The local market in Bodrum was a great place to explore Turkish culture. There were all sorts of different stalls selling everything from food to souvenirs. It was a great place to buy some traditional Turkish souvenirs, and the prices were very reasonable. I definitely recommend visiting the local market if you're looking for a unique cultural experience.
Eat and Drink
We also had the opportunity to enjoy some delicious Turkish cuisine. We ate at a local restaurant, and the food was fantastic. We sampled a variety of dishes, including traditional Turkish kebabs and flatbreads.
As for dessert , we had the chance to try some of the famous Turkish Baklava. This delicious pastry is made with layers of phyllo dough, filled with nuts and sweetened with syrup. It was an amazing way to end our day in Bodrum.
Before we leave we decided to drink some of the local tea , which was delicious.Turkish tea is definitely worth a try if you're visiting Bodrum. It's a delicious and refreshing drink, and it's a great way to sample some of the local flavor. The tea is served hot and is usually sweetened with sugar or honey. It's a delicious and satisfying drink, and it's a great way to finish off a day of exploration in Bodrum.
All in all, we had an incredible day trip to Bodrum. The city is full of history and culture, and it's definitely worth a visit. If you're looking for an adventure, look no further than Bodrum!
