Explore the Ancient Wonders of the Acropolis and Its Slopes
The sacred rock of the Acropolis has been a revered site dedicated to the goddess Athena, the city's protector, for centuries. Thanks to the grand artistic program initiated by Pericles in the 5th century BC, this iconic location is adorned with monumental structures like the Propylaea, the Erechtheion, and the Parthenon—an enduring symbol of Greek and European civilization.
On the Northern Slope, ancient cults dedicated to fertility and vegetation flourished in open-air sanctuaries and rock-hewn caves. Notable monuments include the Klepsydra spring and three caves dedicated to the worship of Pan, Zeus, and Apollo. Dominating the Eastern Slope is a monumental cave dedicated to the nymph Aglauros.
rom the Archaic period and for many centuries, the southern side (Southern Slope) of the Acropolis gained immense religious, cultural, and intellectual significance with the construction of major sanctuaries and theatrical buildings. Key monuments include the Asklepieion, the Temple and Theatre of Dionysus, and the Odeon built by Herodes Atticus in 162 AD in memory of his wife Regilla.
Experience the rich history and spiritual essence of these ancient wonders with our comprehensive ticket, granting you access to explore these significant landmarks at your own pace. Don't miss the opportunity to witness the splendor of the Acropolis and its slopes, a testament to Greece's glorious past.

There is a free drinking water fountain at the middle of the site.
There are two entrances to the Acropolis. The main entrance is often busier, especially with tourists from cruise ships, leading to long lines. I recommend using the second entrance on the southeast side, which is typically less crowded. This entrance is conveniently located just a few meters from the Acropolis metro station. If you don’t plan to purchase a skip-the-line ticket, this alternative entrance is your best option for a quicker entry.
Included access to Odeon of Herodes Atticus & Theatre of Dionysus
