Construction began around 515 BC but was only completed centuries later by Emperor Hadrian in 131/132 AD. This grand temple, constructed of Pentelic marble in the Corinthian order, originally featured 104 towering columns, of which only 15 remain standing today, with one having fallen in a storm in 1852. As you explore the site, you'll also encounter the remnants of the Themistoclean Wall, ancient dwellings, and a Roman bathhouse.
