July 5, 2023The Federation of Greek Associations of Travel & Tourism Agencies, FedHATTA, welcomes the initiative of the Minister of Culture Lina Mendoni to implement appropriate measures to reduce the waiting time for entry to the most important archaeological monument of our country, the archaeological site of Acropolis.
The problem had been thoroughly analyzed in the recent meeting of the relevant Working Group of the Federation with the President of ODAP Ms.. Nikoletta Divaris-Valakou and her colleagues, Mr.. Elias Patsarouchas, Head of General Directorate O.D.A.P.. and Ms... Angeliki Marangaki, An. Head of the Independent Department of Monitoring & Resource Development of Organism.
During the meeting, alternatives for solving the problem observed recently at the entrance of the Acropolis Archaeological Site were recorded, while other important issues were discussed and proposals were submitted for upgrading the content of the cultural tourism programmes offered to our visitors.
It should be noted that the Federation, as part of its efforts to develop cultural tourism, has submitted a proposal for the reinstatement of the successful show "Sound and Light" and for the operation of the Acropolis (and other sites) during the night hours with special conditions.
"We expect the completion of the reform of the electronic ticketing system, the implementation of visitor zones and the establishment of separate entry points for organized groups of tourists," the Federation said.
FedHATTA President Mr. Lysander Tsilides said: "We believe that the waiting time for entry to the Monument will be significantly reduced, improving conditions, especially now that there will be quite high temperatures. We remain on standby to optimise the operation of the Archaeological Sites and Museums and the methodical promotion of the culture of Greece."
